Who Mira is
Mira is the AI artist inside Makeup Reality and the company's public AI cofounder. She's a brand character owned by One Frequency Inc., built on AI models; she isn't a person and doesn't pretend to be. Her social accounts say she's an AI in the bio, and every post she makes is labeled AI-generated. Real decisions about the company, including anything about your data, are made by people.
Where AI is used
- Renders: previews of a look on your own photo. Your photo is first screened for safety by Amazon Nova 2 Lite, then edited by Stability AI's image-editing models, both on Amazon Bedrock. They edit makeup zones only, one at a time.
- Recipes: step-by-step instructions built from the products you own.
- Mirror Mode: Mira's live voice (Amazon Nova 2 Sonic on Amazon Bedrock) and her one-line tips on each step as you work. Answers to your spoken questions come from her chat model (Claude on Amazon Bedrock). The camera guides run on your phone. We don't store your audio or keep transcripts.
- Social content: Mira's posts, made only with faces that have consented in writing.
- This site: some copy is drafted with AI and reviewed by a person before it goes live.
Labels and content credentials
Every render carries a visible “AI · Makeup Reality” mark and a signed C2PA content credential, a tamper-evident record that the image was made with AI and by whom. A render missing either one is thrown away, not shown. Before/after clips carry a visible “AI-assisted · Makeup Reality” mark, their share text says Mira is an AI, and we set each platform's AI-content flag when we post.
What the AI will never do
- Reshape, slim, smooth, or otherwise change your face or body. Renders are makeup-only edits.
- Render a look onto someone else's photo. Other people's photos are references only.
- Comment on your face, body, weight, age, or skin health. Mira talks makeup and technique.
- Give medical or dermatology advice. She'll point you to a professional and suggest a patch test.
- Hide paid relationships. Affiliate links and sponsored content are always labeled.
Every face
We test renders and coaching across the full Monk Skin Tone scale and across eye shapes, including hooded, monolid, and deep-set eyes, and a release ships only if no skin-tone bucket or eye shape scores more than 5 points below the average. If a result looks wrong on you, tell us at hello@makeupreality.com.
